About

Founded in 2017 and revived in 2023 post covid, The Art & Therapy Loft is a place of refuge – whether from the demands of the world or your own mind. It is a place to reconnect to the heart and the nurture the soul. Created primarily as a space for offering Art Therapy, and art as a means to explore ourselves and our creativity, it is also where the founders come to explore and express their full selves.
Along with regular Art Therapy Classes, which are offered in a group setting, one on one work reflective work is also offered through Biography Work and Depth Coaching. The space also hosts workshops and other classes which align with art and wellbeing.
ART THERAPY
Art Therapy as practised at the Art & Therapy Loft is distinct from psychotherapy. The therapist does not interpret and assess the work, nor is it used to diagnose or label. Inspired by Anthroposophical Art Therapy, this approach is holistic and looks at the whole person and doesn’t only focus on what’s not working. The technique was pioneered by the physician Dr Margarethe Hauschka in 1950s in Switzerland. It is a water colour based painting technique that can be used for creativity, self development and theraputic aspects as well.
HATA
Founded in 2018 Holistic Art Therapists Association (HATA) brings together practitioners of Anthroposophy inspired Art Therapy in India and is dedicated to the growth and development of the field. HATA was founded to establish professional standards and ethical guidelines for the practitioners as well create a support network for them. It endeavours to maintain the highest quality of Art Therapy being offered via its members, through holding them to rigorous standards and investing in their continued training.
Our Story
Natasha started her career as an advertising executive but after almost a decade of being in the corporate world, hung up her boots to pursue theatre. On the way back from a theatre workshop in 2009 she got introduced to the concept of Art therapy and was instantly hooked. She started her own workshop after completing her training in 2015 and also founded the association. She is also trained in Biography Work and is a Depth Coach.

Reena was working at Wizcraft in events and decided to pursue painting once she moved to Bombay in 2009. A fear of flying brought her to the art therapy classes and while the fear went down she stayed, and trained in the medium. She is an artist who works in the medium of oils and also loves to help people develop their creativity and artistic skills though her classes.
